• Do not place unlit incense sticks on polished, painted or stain-prone surfaces
• Handle sticks by the thin wooden end to avoid colour transfer
• Always place incense in a suitable, stable incense holder
• Position the holder on a flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials and drafts
• Ensure falling ash lands on a non-flammable surface
• Never leave burning incense unattended
• Wash hands after handling incense
